Not that he needs us to prove His existence, he doesn’t “need” us for anything. But science has had some interesting theories abound lately that open the door that logically, God has to exist.
M Theory, or String Theory as it is popularly known as, is actually made up of several variations of a basic theme that all seeks to reconcile quantum mechanics and general relativity. It is part of the elusive search for the grand “Theory of Everything” and is, so far, the most promising of theories that has been refined over the last 20 years. Without string theory, the only way to make General relativity and Quantum theory work together is by the rather inconvenient scenario of completely ignoring gravity. String Theory allows us to bring gravity back into the discussion in where gravity particles (gravitons) arise as excitations on a string (think notes from a guitar string) which vibrate and allow them to have no mass and two units of spin.
Now, there are detractors and this is not the finished product in the “Theory of Everything” and while it is not without it’s deficiencies, it is the most widely accepted theory and until something else that better explains the behavior of sub atomic particles, it is the best theory going.
How does this explain God? well, there are peculiar aspects of string theory. remember when we referred to string theory as “M theory”? That is because one of those peculiar aspects is the supposition of membranes, thus “M” theory. Put simply the idea here is that there are higher dimensions than the four that we are familiar with and these dimensions allow gravity to “leak” through thus explaining why such a weak force such as gravity seems so prevalent yet from no known source. In addition, These membranes or “branes” occasionally bump together and cause to come into existence universes. Our own big bang could have been the result of two of these branes bumping together. Imagine two soap bubbles that momentarily collide and just as suddenly pull away from each other and in consequence bring into existence a small bubble on the surface of one of the bigger bubbles. That smaller surface bubble can be thought of as a universe. Right now M theory or string theory supposes 10 or 11 dimensions. But there are others that posit that there are infinite time lines and universes that are condensed in the 10th dimension. If there are infinite universes and thus worlds, thus an infinite number of outcomes and possibilities no matter how unimaginable or absurd. If you can imagine pink elephants that talk in Egyptian and have humans for pets, then with an infinite number of possibilities, it must be so somewhere. Therefore logic would dictate that if we can imagine God, He must exist.
Or more likely in my mind, God imagined us, and thus we came into existence.
First God made heaven & earth 2 The earth was without form and void, and darkness was upon the face of the deep; and the Spirit of God was moving over the face of the waters. 3 And God said, “Let there be light”; and there was light. 4 And God saw that the light was good; and God separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, one day. 6 And God said, “Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.” 7 And God made the firmament and separated the waters which were under the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament. And it was so………..And God said, “Let there be lights in the firmament of the heavens to separate the day from the night; and let them be for signs and for seasons and for days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so. 16 And God made the two great lights, the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night; he made the stars also. 17 And God set them in the firmament of the heavens to give light upon the earth, 18 to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good…..Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness; and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps upon the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
